Fredericksburg 150th Reenactment Pictures

Fredericksburg
Today is the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg during the American Civil War. Last weekend I went with Stephen Breagy to a reenactment of the battle on the actual ground. Pictures are below, and you can watch the videos here. Also see posts about the battle throughout the day on my Civil War blog.

New Mexico Conference

New Mexico
A week ago my father and I were just returning from New Mexico, where we had gone for the weekend to a conference along with Steve Breagy, an elder who used to be at our church, and Victor Maxon, a man from our church. Mr. Breagy and my father taught a men's conference on Saturday, and attended church there on Sunday and spent a lot of time talking with people in the area.

Snow
Although New Mexico is a little south of us in North Carolina it is much colder, being over 6000 feet high. One of the mornings we woke up to a light dusting of snow on the ground.

White Unto Harvest Conference

Main Secession
This past weekend we attended the annual NCFIC Conference, which this year was called White Unto Harvest and was on the great commission. My father gave a message on evangelism within the church and was on the panel the last day. You will be able to get the audio from these and all the other great messages soon from the NCFIC store.

Princeton University and John Witherspoon video

We are about to release our video series Discerning History: Causes of the Civil War. In conjunction with that we are starting up something new - a series of weekly free video shorts posted on our youtube page. Last week's video was on Princeton University, its founding and how it has changed today. If you enjoyed it, subscribe to our channel on youtube.

Check back tomorrow for another video!

Car Accident

As many of you probably know, we were involved in a car accident last Wednesday. We were on a filming trip for Discerning History and our Ford Excursion flipped while we were in Annapolis, Maryland. Above is a picture of the wreck. All in the car, the five in our family plus Erik Woodard and Stephen Breagy) were taken via ambulance to the hospital except my father, who was taken by helicopter. The injuries turned out by God's grace, to be much less serious than they could have been. Rachel had only bruises, Stephen a cut on his elbow, Erik broke his pinky, and I had about 13 staples and 5 stitches. We were all released in a few hours. Stephen Breagy got staples in his head, and was kept overnight for a concussion. My parent's injuries were a bit more serious. My father had a broken collar bone and has a neck brace for his vertebrae. He was released Friday. My mother has a neck brace and a lot of deep cuts on her head and hand and was released Saturday. We are all home now, and Lord Willing all will recover quickly. Thanks to all those who prayed, and are prayer for us!

Treasure Hunt Tour 2012

On our tour this year there was yet another treasure hunt. Here is a video of the final clue and prizes ceremony. Check back soon for pictures and reports from the tour!

Alaska Trip - Day 12 (Exit Glacier)

The last day before we flew out we spent most of the day hiking the Harding Ice Field Trail. We were unable to make it to the end of the trail, because there was too much snow, but we did make it a good portion of the way.

White Unto Harvest Conference

My father will be giving a message at NCFIC's White Unto Harvest Conference this October. Above is a video about some of the common sins in the church related to the Great Commission. You can see many other videos related to this conference here.

Alaska Trip - Day 11 (Manatuska Glacier)

On our first day in Anchorage, Stephen, my father and I went ice climbing a few hours away at Matanuska Glacier while my mother and sister stayed in town with our family. Climbing was a lot of fun. I'll try to post a video of it soon. Here are some pictures:
